The Holley Manufacturing Company

Recommended by National Public Radio's cooking show The Splendid Table and Fine Cooking Magazine.

Professional knife sharpening at its best.  Founded in 1844 as a knife manufacturer, we devised a better way to sharpen knives.

  • Using a 3-step water immersion process that keeps your knife edge cooled while it is being processed, we can readily reproduce the exact hollow ground edge your knife once had.
  • Careful quality control using inspection techniques drawn from the semiconductor industry allows us to repeatedly generate an edge sharp as or sharper than new.
  • Whether you use single-edged Eastern style knives with ultra-hard steel or double-sided Western style knives, we have the equipment and skills to expertly handle both.
  • From the kitchen of the US Embassy in Athens, Greece to a cook in Honolulu, we sharpen the world's knives.  If you have dull knives or knives that aren't working right because of broken tips, nicks, or damage from a poor sharpening service, we will be happy to make them right.

Getting your knives to us couldn’t be easier – after you place an order, we send you a special box that has everything you need to safely return your knives to us.  We even include the tape!   All you have to do is seal the box and take it to your choice of shipper: FedEx Ground or the US Post Office.  Our special box even fits inside a standard mailbox.  And shipping is FREE in the contiguous 48 states. Shipping times vary depending on where you live from one to 4 business days each way.  If you would like to get the price break by sending in all your knives, there is an option to buy a reasonably priced 6" chef's knife to use while the rest are at the Knife Spa.  You can find it at the bottom of the Order page.

Why wait any longer?  Knives sharp as new are just a mouse click away.
Our “Quality Control” page explains how we are able to consistently reproduce razor sharp knife edges.  Our “Sharpness Defined” page shows how we use an optical signature to determine sharpness.
